Three choreographic world premieres

In demo mode, you can try out the technical capabilities of devices without actually using them. The idea of democracy was first mentioned by Herodotus around 430 BC, after this form of government had already been practised for several decades. Who is then assigned to the "ruling people" by definition was and is historically variable. The new works in the ballet evening deal with different aspects of democracy.

Australian guest choreographer Alice Topp questions the influence of algorithms on democracy. The steady increase in the reach of social media with constant advertising and the associated influence on political alignments means that algorithms can control trends by storing users' personal data and clicks. Is this the future of our political opinion-forming?

We are so lucky to be able to speak without whispering, to vote without fear, to debate without hiding, to challenge - to simply be ourselves. In his new work, French guest choreographer Guillaume Hulot sheds light on how fragile basic rights such as freedom of expression, equality and justice are and that our canon of values only works if we keep filling it with life.

At the 16th International Dance Days in May 2025, there was a platform for "Young Choreographers" for the first time. The audience chose their favorite piece and the winner created a new work for the ballet evening "Demo-Mode".
