The alliance Feminist Fighting Day Düsseldorf calls for a demonstration on the occasion of the International Feminist Fighting Day on March 8, 2025
No step back, no step to the right - international feminism against war and fascism
While we FLINTA* (FLINTA stands for: Women (cis, inter*, trans*), lesbians, inter* and non-binary as well as trans* and agender people) have a feeling of regression due to the current racist, fascist, queer-hostile and anti-feminist agitation, we want to send a very clear signal against it with you.
We are fighting for our self-determination and in solidarity with all FLINTA* worldwide. For the liberation of all people from patriarchy and exploitation. For many of us, this also means the fight against capitalism, because the systems of oppression are connected and must be fought together! We know that FLINTA* suffer the most from the numerous wars that are currently raging. We need societies based on solidarity that are built from below and enable all sections of the population, people of all genders, cultures and religions, to live a good life. Feminist achievements that have been fought for, such as the democratic society in Rojava, must be defended. Because if one of us is not free, none of us is free!
While fascists are on the march, we will be loud. Even politicians of the supposed "center" and former "progressives" as well as openly right-wing politicians put profit and national thinking above human lives. They talk about isolation and remigration.
Take your concerns to the streets with us and make our anger heard!
Feminicides (the term feminicide refers to the role of state institutions and actors in the killing of women) and violence against FLINTA* are steadily increasing, but the demands for stricter laws to protect us are ignored and not taken seriously. In 2025, just two days have passed since the first femicide in Germany. Despite this, there is no change in thinking. FLINTA* voices are suppressed or ignored. We lose loved ones because they are taken from us due to patriarchal power relations. Men control, beat, rape and kill not out of love, but because of their sense of ownership.
The protection of perpetrators must stop immediately! Shame must change sides! No perpetrator must feel safe anymore!
The inhibition threshold to commit violence against FLINTA*, BIPoCs, migrants, disabled, poor, homeless or queer people continues to fall. The state is not protecting us, neither from increasing violence nor from discrimination and sexism. It is even cutting funding for urgently needed shelters and community spaces. Let's fight together in solidarity for each other and our protection, because we cannot rely on the state!
Equality strategies are just a drop in the ocean. We are seething!
Patriarchal society is trying to divide us into men and women in an externally determined way. All reproductive work is imposed on those who are classified as women. We FLINTA* keep everything going in wage labor as well as in care and housework - poorly paid or unpaid. Work and effort that is never appreciated or seen, all on the backs of female-assigned people. We are fighting back against this exploitation! Work must not only be made visible, it must be distributed among all genders in a spirit of solidarity and paid fairly. Even if we care, clean, look after and raise the next generations, this work goes unpaid and leaves huge gaps in our financial provision, especially in old age. This, together with cuts in social services, housing shortages, inflation, are just a few of the factors that put FLINTA* in working families and single parents in particular in dire straits.
But together, our burden is only half as heavy. Let's learn from each other and grow together! Care work and wealth must be socialized! For these feminist struggles, we demand solidarity from people of all genders!
So let's create structures of solidarity here and now, at a time when it feels like everything is getting worse and worse. Let us build and implement together what the powerful of this world obviously do not want and do not do: Peace, solidarity and freedom for all!
Join us: Take to the streets together on March 8!
