Dennis Deter // Blow Boys Blow

In the organizer's words:

With "Blow Boys Blow", Dennis Deter and his crew celebrate the traditional connection between sailors and the world of theater: since sailors were employed as technicians on the world's stages many years ago, there has been a close connection between theaters and sailing ships. The sailors not only knew how to operate skillfully above the stage and between the lights, tie tight knots and mend curtains, they also brought their superstitions, concepts and traditions to the theaters. In a stormy show, the performers assert themselves against all odds with fervent singing and keep the ship on course until the final curtain falls.
