Why and at what points do factual discussions turn into emotionalized disputes? To shed light on this, the concept of trigger points is introduced, which provides an analytical key for identifying sensitive political issues that are often associated with reactance and rejection. Why do people often go ballistic about cargo bikes, veggie days or the discussion about speed limits? How do political actors use triggers to stir up emotions and what consequences does this have for the political system as a whole? Discuss trigger points with denXte and Prof. Dr. Steffen Mau!

denXte is an interactive philosophical lecture series in which renowned philosophers present socially topical and scientifically relevant issues in the form of thought experiments. After a short thematic introduction by the philosophers, the audience is invited to explore their own intuition on the topic and - by voting with their smartphone and in a subsequent open discussion - to contribute to the discussion.
