The Jews rule the world - this is the core idea of almost every anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. For centuries, the Jewish population was blamed for every conceivable evil that people had to endure: bad harvests, natural disasters, epidemic diseases. At the end of the 19th century, the idea emerged that a Jewish world conspiracy wanted to plunge the world into chaos.
Michael Scholz presents the most common conspiracy theories with anti-Semitic overtones and traces the development in which the Jews were turned from scapegoats into the secret rulers of the world: From the murder-of-God narrative, well poisoning and Martin Luther, to anti-Semitic conspiracies in esoteric world views such as theosophy or Ariosophy, to the Nazis and "world Jewry". In digressions, he also deals with Islamic-influenced conspiracy narratives, left-wing anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic narratives among lateral thinkers à la "planned pandemic" and "Pizzagate".

Michael Scholz is a publicist and member of the Gesellschaft zur wissenschaftlichen Untersuchung von Parawissenschaften ( GWUP). He has been explaining conspiracy theories and other esoteric topics on his blog Onkel Michaels kleine Welt since 2015. He regularly writes for the Humanist Press Service ( hpd). In 2024, his book Antisemitische Verschwörungstheorien. Eine aktuelle Darstellung von Brunnenvergiftung bis Zinswucher was published by Alibri Verlag.
