On April 28, 2025, the GWÖ Kino im Neuen Maxim invites you to a special movie night: We present "Purpose" - an inspiring documentary by director Martin Oetting. The film follows economist Katherine Trebeck and politician Lorenzo Fioramonti on their courageous mission to question the traditional economic system and develop a new vision that focuses on the well-being of people and the environment.
Katherine Trebeck is co-founder of the "Wellbeing Economy Alliance", an international alliance of which the ECG is also a member. Her aim is to bring together countries that are prepared to realign their policies and rethink their economic systems. At the same time, Lorenzo Fioramonti ventured into Italian politics, becoming a Member of Parliament and later Minister of Education in order to implement his vision of an economy oriented towards the common good. These stories impressively show how principles that the Economy for the Common Good movement stands for can be applied in the real world.
The film screening lasts 96 minutes. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to find out more about the background to the film and the topics it deals with in a Q&A session with the director and other guests.
