"The stranger in us," wrote the writer and analyst Arno Gruen, "is the part of ourselves that we have lost and which we spend our lives trying to find again, each in our own way. Some do this by wrestling with themselves, others by destroying other living beings."

Based on this thought, Philipp Grimm explores the question of what drives people to open up to the right or even to radicalize themselves and thus contribute to the fact that right-wing conservative and radical right-wing parties in Germany have been so successful in recent elections. Grimm begins his search for the answer with himself and his youth, which he looks back on: 'I'm young and I'm scared. What am I afraid of? Of whom? Am I afraid of the stranger? How do I meet the stranger? What is the stranger in myself?

The result is a staged reading and performance in which Philipp Grimm explores these questions on a physical and textual level.
