The medieval court of England is ruled by the tyrant Roderick, who has usurped the throne after the murder of the royal family. But Roderick fears for his crown. Rumor has it that he overlooked a baby bearing the purple royal birthmark during the slaughter. Bold figures are said to be hiding it in the royal forests. And the rumors are true: the juggler Hawkins decides to assume the identity of the court jester Giacomo and sneak into the English court as the "king of fools and jester of kings" in order to reclaim the throne for the rightful heir. However, Lord Ravenhurst, a scheming advisor to Roderick, is at the same time expecting a contract killer in the announced court jester Giacomo. When the unsuspecting Hawkins is hypnotized by a witch, Roderick's daughter Gwendolyn also falls in love with him and chaos finally breaks out, because Gwendolyn was already promised to Griswold and he now demands a duel with Hawkins. A juggler with a sword: can it work?

Christian Brey is an expert in comedies and musicals. He will take the slapstick, the ironic fight scenes and the enchanting comedy of mistaken identity of the 1955 cult film to the extreme with his directorial speed.
