Adam and Atticus are identical twins. Only two minutes separate them, but this small amount of time is crucial because Adam, the first-born, is self-confident, athletic and popular. Atticus, on the other hand, is very clever but shy and an outsider. Adam hangs out with the cool boys at school and three girls already want to kiss him. Atticus spends most of his time alone in the school library and is especially popular with the teachers. And whenever the twins stand next to each other in the sun, Adam always seems to cast the longest shadow, even though the brothers are exactly the same height. On his twelfth birthday, Atticus decides that something has to change fundamentally. Day after day, he comes up with a new plan to finally be as cool as Adam. First he transforms himself into an exact copy of his brother, but still only feels like a disguised version of himself. He tries to be a music star and fails - not only, but also because of his lack of singing talent. Then he becomes a bully himself at school in order to finally get back at his tormentor, nasty Mike, and feel better about himself. But no matter what contortions Atticus tries, they don't lead to the desired success. Only at the end of the week does he succeed - not entirely without the help of his twin brother - in finding his own place in the world and standing up for himself.
