What does power mean to you? And what role does it play for women* in a world characterized by patriarchy and capitalism?
We asked 16 women* from Cologne and Düren, who all come from different areas of society and have different cultural backgrounds. And as different as their stories are, so is their understanding of power: for some, power is something that is abused. For others, it stands for freedom and the opportunity to actively shape something.
Over two consecutive days, the rooms of the Kulturbunker will be transformed into a place of empowerment and experience. There will be creative texts, exciting information and audio and video installations for all the senses. You can always decide whether you want to sit back and enjoy the exhibition or whether you want to actively train your own self-empowerment. Twice a day, the "Containerinnen" offer a performative guided tour.
We offer DGS translation for some of the content. Please bring a digital device for scanning QR codes.
For non-sighted people, we offer a touch tour through the exhibition on Saturday at 1 pm. There will also be an audio description of the video work "Carnival of Realities"
The event takes place as part of the democracy cooperation project Besser miteinander reden with the VHS Köln.
