Seymour Krelbourn, an employee in a flower store in New York's run-down Skid Row, cultivates a strange carnivorous plant that feeds exclusively on human blood. The more it grows, the greater its thirst becomes, so that the sadistic boyfriend of Seymour's secret love Audrey and even the store owner Mr. Mushnik are killed. Will Audrey and Seymour also fall victim to the plant?

The quirky and charming musical, which was based on a 1960 B-movie starring Jack Nicholson and directed by Roger Corman, achieved cult status worldwide with its hits such as 'Grow for Me', 'Somewhere That's Green' and 'Suppertime'. The musical adaptation by Frank Oz (1986) finally immortalized the material.
