After the crash in the Sahara desert, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry worked tirelessly on a new project, a fixed idea. A face was running through his mind, which he - untrained as a draughtsman - tried incessantly to put on paper. He even used napkins in restaurants for this purpose. This could not go unnoticed and he was commissioned by his American publisher to write a story for children. What Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote and drew is much more than a children's book. The result is a world classic.
