In the organizer's words:

"Sardines in or sardines out?" That's the question here, from Leonhard Koppelmann shortly before midnight. The premiere is tomorrow, but the actors are still struggling with their fishy props. They are also battling nosebleeds, text hang-ups, contact lenses, botched performances, dropped pants and loose door handles. What can go wrong, goes wrong. It seems completely out of the question that the premiere will take place. But this theater troupe in acting survival mode sees their failure as an opportunity - and so the play somehow makes it to the stage. After a few weeks on tour, the ensemble's struggles have shifted mainly to the private sphere. While the audience is not supposed to notice anything at the front, behind the scenes there are real dramas of jealousy, relationship escapades and revenge tragedies - with axes drawn, among other things. But although the potential for conflict among these idiosyncratic artistic personalities is strong, they remain dependent on each other for better or worse. And so the ensemble - driven by existential crises, great emotions and special sensitivities - heads straight for an absolute loss of control.
