Der Prozess

Franz Kafka died 100 years ago. The clairvoyance with which he tells of waking up in a world whose rules are suddenly no longer comprehensible still amazes us today in The Trial. This is what happens to Josef K., an authorized signatory in a bank. One morning he is arrested without knowing why. Although he is still allowed to move around freely, all attempts to find out what he is accused of, all attempts to speak to the court, to approach him, come to nothing. K. becomes more and more entangled in the ropes of justice, the trial penetrates his interpersonal relationships and his entire existence more and more mercilessly until he finally surrenders to it.
Sarah Kurze has repeatedly condensed great material for the stage, only to rediscover it with her ensemble in a playful and light-hearted way. She has staged productions at the Theater Bonn, the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, among others.
