Professor Beelzebub Irrwitzer is a terrible sorcerer and poisoner who enjoys wreaking havoc in nature. However, his infernal employer is not at all happy with him this year - Maledictus Made, the devilish messenger, thinks he has done far too few bad deeds. That's why Irrwitzer's time will come to an end at midnight if he doesn't quickly cause a few more disasters in the world. The only thing that can help him now is the satanic-archaic-lying-hellish wishing punch, which turns all good wishes into the opposite at the stroke of midnight. However, Irrwitzer only has half of the parchment recipe, the other half is with his aunt Tyrannja Vamperl, who just happens to be visiting. She has exactly the same problem, and so they both brew the highly dangerous wishing punch. Fortunately, Maurizio the cat and Krista the crow recognize the danger and take up the fight against the two villains together, even though they don't like each other at first. But time is running out and the task is difficult ...
The composer Elisabeth Naske is one of the best-known authors in the field of opera for children. She turned Michael Ende's fantastic "Wishing Punch" book (1989) into one of the most frequently performed family operas, with both scary, demonic and hilarious scenes. The stylistic range of the music extends from aria, recitative and dance in classical opera to jazz and swing elements and contemporary music theater.
