Der Schlagzeuger von Zwitschermaschine

In the organizer's words:

At the end of the exhibition IM DIALOG - Hasso Plattner Collection: Art from the GDR , we cordially invite you to a concert by the band Der Schlagzeuger von Zwitschermaschine.

The original band Zwitschermaschine stands for a special combination of music, literature and visual art. The art-punk band was formed at the end of the 1970s in the GDR and became known to a wider audience in West Germany through the split LP DDR von unten (1983). Their repertoire included songs that combined punk, freestyle and expressionist poetry. The founding members included Cornelia Schleime, Ralf Kerbach, Wolfgang Grossmann, Matthias Zeidler, Michael Rom and Sascha Anderson.

With recourse to these origins and inspired by the publication of the book "will nicht zu den großohrigen elefanten" (2020/21) with texts by Michael Rom, selected pieces were rearranged and recorded on the current album "ROM" with a new line-up. Wolfgang Grossmann, once drummer in the original formation, initiated and produced the project together with Jörg Schittkowski.

The current line-up includes:

Wolfgang Grossmann (drums, vocals), Pegman (guitar), Aniqo (vocals), Jörg Schittkowski (bass, guitar), Rajko Gohlke (bass), Peter Hein (vocals)

The concert at MINSK will take place with the participation of Ralf Kerbach (guitar), who is also represented with a work in the current exhibition IM DIALOG .
