Der Vierte Zustand - Release Konzert: Layers

In the organizer's words:

The fourth state exists outside the known norms. In the middle of three physical aggregate states, it combines their properties to create an exciting mixture with completely unusual characteristics. Free improvisation, free jazz and noise rock are the ingredients and three experienced improvisation artists are the driving forces behind achieving this state. That fourth state that develops a transcendental power in the energetic interplay of soundscapes, grooves and noises.

"Der Vierte Zustand" is a free improvising trio consisting of Hanna Schörken (voc), Christina Zurhausen (g) and Ramon Keck (dr), which has been performing since 2021 and then, in 2023, after two concerts in New York, merged as a permanent band with this name. The formation is characterized by the mixture of the sound language of new music, the energy of free jazz and song structures of rock, with established and idiosyncratic characters from the music scene in NRW. The first studio album will be released on February 14, 2025 by Creative Sources Records (Portugal).
