Birds exert a very special fascination on people. That's why an entire room in the Natural History Museum is dedicated to these unique and diverse animals.
More than 200 specimens and objects as well as various media stations take visitors of all ages into the world of the feathered inhabitants of the skies. From reproduction, communication and nutrition to bird migration, the exhibition covers all aspects of the lives of these vertebrates, which, as direct descendants of the dinosaurs, have inhabited planet Earth for much longer than humans.
A particular highlight is the so-called bird flight line, which has been staged under the ceiling of the hall. Here, red kites, grey herons and mute swans appear to hover over the heads of visitors, impressing them with their wingspans.
