In the distant future, one of them may become mayor, one will live in a loft with large bookshelves, one will wear expensive designer clothes and one will still be hanging out in the same disco as before. Marin, Luka, Ana and Marija keep imagining the paths they will (or won't) take in these and very different ways. First as children, later as teenagers and young adults, they talk together about the everyday events of life - about friendship, love, fear, violence, the search for identity and the growing pains that come with it. Above all, this group has one thing in common: they were all born in Sisak, Croatia, in 1990. They all spent their childhood in a war that still echoes between them long after it ended.
In his award-winning play "Der (vor)letzte Panda oder Die Statik", Dino Pešut - born in Sisak in 1990 - sensitively and impressively sketches the image of a generation caught between stagnation, upheaval and new beginnings. No path can be taken entirely without the others, and the polyphonic narrative can only emerge together. With the German premiere of the play, director Christoph Macha is once again pursuing an interest in a very fundamental question in a fun and playful way this season: how do we tell our stories despite all adversity and in the face of the world?
