Der Wald in mir

Jan has filled his apartment with aquariums, terrariums and cages. Alice, his fellow student and environmental activist, appreciates his sensitivity. When they fall in love, Jan is overwhelmed by the intense feelings, the social life and the closeness to Alice. His perception becomes distorted and he believes that he must actively combat threats. Jan suffers from an intoxicating delusion that leads him to a psychiatric clinic, where Alice comes to his aid. Although he initially recovers, he is later de-registered from university and is given notice to leave his apartment. As a result, he falls into a deep depression. He flees to the forest and finds solace in nature.
