Everyone is familiar with plays, readings and radio plays. But what happens when you fuse these three art forms together? The result is a fascinating and unique stage event: an interactive live radio play!
With creativity and enthusiasm, the Live-Hörspiel Köln ensemble brings the timeless classic "The Wizard of Oz" back to life in an innovative form.

With their versatile voices, the three actresses breathe life into the imaginative characters of L. Frank Baum's famous novel. With wit, suspense and contemporary references, they tell the story of Dorothy, who has been catapulted into the mysterious land of Oz by a sudden whirlwind. Now she must try to find her way back home. In the process, she meets a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man without a heart and a lion without courage. Together they face numerous dangers and adventures and discover that nothing is as it seems.
The special thing about this evening of theater is that the audience can not only listen spellbound, but also follow live how the sounds of the story are created on stage from everyday objects that one would perhaps never associate with a theater hall: A garbage bag becomes a tornado, a coconut becomes pounding footsteps.
And even the audience itself becomes part of the acoustic backdrop. From their own seats, they can howl through the theater as a whirlwind or use their voices to create a swarm of flying monkeys. This interactive approach makes the live radio play a real highlight that will be remembered for a long time.
