Der zerbrochne Krug

In the organizer's words:

The jug is broken. That much is certain. And Judge Adam broke it. That's also certain. He had come to Eve that evening to force a deal on her: Her beloved Ruprecht is to be drafted into the army and shipped off to Asia, from where almost no one comes back alive. At least that's what Judge Adam says and suggests Eve save Ruprecht from being drafted into the army with a secretly issued certificate. With the lie and the promise of rescue, he comes to Eve late at night, locks the door to the room, grabs her hands and stares at her, ready to go further, which doesn't happen, as unexpectedly and suddenly Ruprecht breaks down the locked door, Adam flees and breaks the jug in the process. What is a tangible and justiciable coercion in office, however, does not come to light at first. Adam uses threats and intimidation, further lies and false accusations to create a supposedly secure protective barrier around himself. And this in a trial that he is conducting himself, as Eve's mother has the broken jug turned into a court case. But the scrutinizing presence of Walter, a witness's fearless testimony and ultimately Eve's courage to tell the truth blow Judge Adam's cover, complete with clubfoot, wigs and head injuries.
