De/Re:Generation: Vortrag und Performance

From January to February 2025, the two Brazilian artist-researchers Adriano Monteiro and Rafaela Pires spent two months at the ligeti center. The evening is divided into two parts: A presentation of the results of the residency and an audiovisual performance.

The audience will have the opportunity to engage with partial results of De/Re:Generation, an ongoing artistic research project that transforms biodegradable materials made from cassava into haptic interfaces for music and multimedia art.

The work explores the relationships between technology, organic matter and interpersonal connections, offering a sensory experience. Following the demo presentation, the artists will offer a concert with two live audiovisual performances:

Displacements - a live encoded AV performance that creates abstract color and soundscapes from recorded walks, and
The Dissolution of Being - a piece that reinterprets the genre of portraiture through algorithmic composition and digital media.

These works have been presented at events such as NYCEMF (New York), NIME (Mexico City), SIMN 2023 (Brazil), Sound Kitchen at Prague Quadriennale (Czech Republic), ICMC 2024 (Seoul).

The presentation language is English.
