Deutsches Chorfest 2025 Nürnberg - Future: Together!

In the organizer's words:

Kings Choir
Conductor: Theodore Cookson

Vivid Voices
Conductor: Claudia Burghard

Works by Ivo Antognini, Theodore Cookson, Paul Simon and others as well as traditional pieces from Namibia

In this concert, Vivid Voices from the Hanover University of Music and Drama renews its friendship with the Kings Choir from the coastal town of Swakopmund/Walvisbay in Namibia. Music builds bridges and connects people whose ancestors share a painful past. This makes the joyful encounter all the more important now and for our common future.

Theodore Cookson, choirmaster and composer, presents traditional, dance music from Namibia as well as cross-genre repertoire from classical to pop with his powerful and excellently tuned choir. The ensemble emerged from the internationally renowned Mascato Youth Choir . The singers of Vivid Voices contrast, touch and groove with a cappella pop/jazz and other pieces from their democracy program.

This concert will be recorded by BR-Klassik. Broadcast dates at www.br-klassik.de.

With the kind support of the Goethe Institute, the Federal Foreign Office and the Dieter Fuchs Foundation.
