Stefan Schultze (*1979): Our Voices (choral fantasy for voices, electronics, solo soprano, percussion and piano)

"Our Voices" is a multi-dimensional experience in which choir, soloists and electronics merge into a lively and constantly changing sound organism. The work is based on the Japanese poem "Iroha", a poetic text about the transience of life, which lends the piece a thoughtful and timeless depth. The music is created in a collaborative process: singers and soloists improvise, experiment and develop new musical ideas together with composer Stefan Schultze and singer Winnie Brückner, combining both composed and spontaneous, improvised elements. Another highlight is the use of live electronics: the voices of the choir and soloists are transformed in real time and interwoven with fascinating, electro-acoustic soundscapes.
