Die beste aller möglichen Welten? • Mithu Sanyal und Wolfram Eilenberger

In the organizer's words:

Do we really live in the best of all possible worlds? Tim Etchells poses this question with his installation Best of All at the Arne Jacobsen Foyer, based on Leibniz's famous theorem. We want to discuss this topic further and have invited two well-known authors and thinkers to do so: The writer Mithu Sanyal and the philosopher and author Wolfram Eilenberger.

In her novels ('Identitti', 'Antichristie'), in essays and in her blog, Mithu Sanyal deals with current socio-political discourses and brings postcolonial perspectives into play. For his forthcoming book, Wolfram Eilenberger ('Ghosts of the Present') looks at philosophers of the 17th century, when Leibniz also lived. Together they will discuss whether we really live in the best of all possible worlds and whether and how human action could improve or worsen the situation.
