Twenty years ago, millionaire heiress Dorothy Danton disappeared - at the age of just one. Now Jim Steele (played by Ole Paulsen), an assistant to the London star lawyer Septimus Salter(Hendrik Weber Jasso), is working on the case. Jim wants to somehow prevent the unsympathetic Digby Groat(ThjorvenSchultz) from inheriting said millions through his mother Jane Groat(Marte Mevert), who was Dorothy's father's sister. Digby Groat is a chemist and doctor. He takes obvious pleasure in carrying out cruel experiments on animals in his laboratory. He uses his medical knowledge to render his mother, who suffers from kleptomania, so weak-willed that she usually submits to his wishes. Digby Groat is also head of the criminal secret organization "Gang of 13", which robs banks, among other things.

Jim's twenty-one-year-old girlfriend Eunice Welldon(Emelie Dias), who knows nothing of these criminal and cruel machinations, has just accepted a position in Digby Groat's household. She is supposed to be his mother's secretary. But Digby has brought her into his house for a different reason.

Eunice finds a card on her bedside table the very first night: she should leave the house as soon as possible for her own safety. An anonymous warning! Signed with the symbol of a blue hand ...
