Emil the donkey is on the run. He has thrown off the much too heavy sacks of flour. He trots away with only his mandolin on his back. Just in time. The miller has already ordered the butcher! Harald Hahn, Kuno the dog and Karla the cat are also in for it. Emil the donkey knows what to do: they're looking for town musicians in Bremen! And they'll find something better than death anywhere. In conflict-ridden, turbulent rehearsals, an unbeatable notorchestra comes together. They manage to make some beastly good music. Off to Bremen! Exciting, with sensitive comedy and lots of music, theater mimikri shows the four animal runaways on their way to a life of their own. With acting, mask play, colorful costume art and an atmospheric stage design, the well-known fairy tale becomes a feast for the eyes and ears of young and old.
