DIE FOTOGRAFIN – Kostenloses Screening und Filmgespräch

As part of the exhibition Lee Miller Photography at the Amerikahaus, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN in cooperation with the Amerikahaus is organizing a free screening of the film DIE FOTOGRAFIN with Kate Winslet on April 11.
Lee Miller - interested, fearless and tenacious. During the Second World War, the fashion photographer defies the rule that women are not allowed on the front and becomes one of the first female war reporters. She is present at the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp and her pictures of the atrocities committed by the National Socialists and the destruction of Europe shape the world's perspective.
The film DIE FOTOGRAFIN with Oscar and CineMerit winner Kate Winslet in the role of Lee Miller, which depicts the war reporter's experiences during the Second World War, thrilled Filmfest audiences and more than 500,000 moviegoers in Germany in 2024.
In cooperation with the Amerikahaus, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN is making this free screening possible , including a unique FilmTalk in advance: The Artistic Co-Director of the Filmfest, Julia Weigl, will be in conversation with the digitally connected Antony Penrose, who, as Lee Miller's son, is not only the administrator of her archive, but was also decisively involved in the creation process of DIE FOTOGRAFIN.
Please note: The film will be shown in the original English with German subtitles. The FilmTalk will be held in English.
