An easy-to-understand explanation in context: the early history, medieval village history, industrialization and World War II era of Hamburg-Ottensen. From the founding of the first settlement to the Danish administration and the naming of Lollis. Entertaining, memorable, colorful, humorous - creatively illustrated with village maps, archive images, animations, contemporary witnesses, tradespeople, craftspeople and amateur actors from the neighborhood as well as museums in Germany and Denmark.

Laura Dieckmann, a self-taught filmmaker, uses a variety of stylistic devices: speakers who allow the deceased villagers to speak again to report on old village life. Old photos of farmhouses and factories are precisely superimposed on today's buildings.

Laura Dieckmann, who was born in Wandsbek in 1999, spent her childhood and youth in Ottensen, where she attended the Max Brauer School. The film "The History of Ottensen" follows a non-commercial basic idea and was made entirely on her own initiative.
