SETI & Co. – Auf der Suche nach ausserirdischem Leben

In the organizer's words:

The search for extraterrestrial life is a kind of holy grail of astrobiology. It ranges from the search for simple life forms on planets and moons in our solar system to research into complex molecules in the interstellar medium and in the atmospheres of extrasolar planets and SETI ("Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence"), i.e. the search for artificial signals from space. It has been carried out for over 60 years with ever-improving technology, but so far without success. Meanwhile, in times of alternative truths and conspiracy narratives, a topic that is actually part of science fiction such as "UFOs", interpreted as extraterrestrial spaceships, is becoming increasingly popular. However, the crucial question has still not been answered: Are we alone in the universe?
