A feminist critique of anti-Semitism and Islamism. Basis and classifications

The initial situation for the current state of war in the Gaza Strip has increasingly disappeared from discussions on social media. The unimaginable massacres committed by Hamas against the Israeli civilian population on October 7, 2023, in which more Jewish people were killed than at any time since the Shoah, have faded into the background.

The lecture focuses on the murderous ideology of the terrorist organization Hamas and shows what Hamas is by no means: a freedom movement for the Palestinian civilian population, through which peace in the region would be possible.

In dealing with the Islamist ideology of Hamas, its central anti-emancipatory points of reference become clear: ambivalent freedoms produced by bourgeois-capitalist modern society are countered by means of a projective defense of eliminatory anti-Semitism. In addition, there is a restrictive rejection of everything sensual and sexually stimulating, for which the female body has always been used as an arena. The intertwining of anti-Semitism and anti-feminism in Islamist ideology was also evident in the brutal attacks on Jewish women at the Nova festival. The lecture is dedicated to a critical classification of these incidents - and would also like to discuss the causal connections between growing anti-Semitism, Islamism & anti-Muslim racism and the resulting appropriations.
