Die Kassierer - what is that actually?

Nothing more and nothing less than the German flagship punk band with a very unique career:

Dadaist cabaret gigs in the late 80s, the breakthrough and lots of hostility with the invention and establishment of the so-called fuck song in the 90s, an increasing popularity in all social classes, great popularity at metal festivals and musical accompaniment for whole generations of kids on their way to school in the noughties and nowadays: Regular guest appearances in Wacken, sold-out halls, press articles without end, the award of the "Golden Umberto for Lifetime Achievement" in the TV show "Circus Halligalli" and then the theater production at Schauspiel Dortmund in the world's first punk operetta with the poetic name "Häuptling Abendwind".

In addition to music, cashier frontman Wölfi has been politically active for years, in various parliamentary election campaigns, as a member of the city council and as a candidate for mayor of Bochum.

The whole thing can be taken to the next level, because in 2016 the Kassierer entered their song for Stockholm in the Eurovision Song Contest. They can also do really good Schlager!

Die Kassierer fascinate with their biting satirical wit and the great contrast of their program. This applies to their varied music, which includes metal, jazz, orchestral interludes and bizarre compositions as well as lots of punk. It also applies to the Kassierer's trademark, their witty lyrics with everyday observations, puns, absurd comparisons, blatant sexual statements and bizarre excursions into the realms of the inexplicable.

The best way to immerse yourself in the wonderful and utterly unique world of Kassierer is at a live concert. The band inspires their euphoric audience, which is made up of people of all ages and educational backgrounds, encourages them to sing along, dance, sway and, well, some of them even take off their clothes completely or even swap their underpants! The audience follows in amazement the announcements of singer Wölfi, who is unique with his charismatic stage presence, moves to the rousing music of the well-rehearsed band and always wonders what surprise will come next. Band and audience come together in a constantly new, amazing and almost incomprehensible performance.
