The little herb witch Pimpinella lives in a cozy house on the edge of the forest with her little pig Albert.
Life here is wonderful. Every day has its highlight:
Monday sometimes the moon shines....
Tuesdays are bathing days.
On Wednesdays, Pimpinella bakes wonderfully fragrant Wednesday rolls
and on Thursdays there is a party for all friends.

But this Wednesday everything is different.

Albert makes a big mistake and Pimpinella finds a sky-blue egg in the forest.

Mr. von Fliegenbein once again knows everything better, bird lady Mathilde panics for the third time this week, the children of the Maus family get up to mischief and when the egg breaks, there is a big surprise for everyone.
