A musical fairy tale loosely based on the opera by W.A. Mozart
"Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there was a vicious and irreconcilable quarrel between the Queen of the Night and the King of the Day - each wanted to rule alone. It was really bad! Sometimes a day lasted 100 hours, then again it was only night for a long time. The animals and also the people on earth suffered great hardship..."
The cheeky flute player Papageno, who is also plagued by chaos, is told by the clever and all-knowing spider that salvation is only possible if his friends - the royal children Tamino and Pamina - take on the great trials of fire, water, air and earth. The two royal children like each other very much, but the quarrelling despots forbid them to associate with each other. In the end, they decide to take the great journey through the elements. With the help of Papageno's magic flute and trusting in their fate and their love, they bravely go forward hand in hand...
