Die Konferenz der Tiere von Erich Kästner

It's getting too colorful for the animals: people hold one peace and climate conference after another, but peace and concrete results from the negotiations are never in sight. Instead, there are always new wars, climate catastrophes and hardship. Alois the lion could be annoyed with the humans (if he wasn't so blond) and Oskar the elephant is worried about the human children. So Oskar, Alois and Leopoldine the giraffe decide to convene the first animal peace and climate conference. The animals from all continents and habitats - including the adorable polar bear girl Paula - come together in the legendary animal skyscraper and call on humans to take action. But they refuse to interfere in human affairs. So Oskar, Alois, Leopoldine and Paula have to come up with a series of actions to make their voices heard. Will they succeed in bringing people to their senses? After all, the children's future is at stake...

Since autumn 2023, the Junge Bühne Mainz has been presenting Erich Kästner's groundbreaking children's novel from 1949 in its own stage adaptation as a new production for young audiences and all theater enthusiasts.
