It is the story of a loving young man whose emotional world constantly collides with merciless reality and social expectations. He loves Lotte, who inspires him with her stunning natural manner. But she is already promised to the wealthy Albert. How far does true love go?
Goethe's epistolary novel is representative of the young generation's perpetual search for themselves and true love. This leads to a gripping interplay of tragedy and lightness, comedy and melancholy, which must be playfully explored...
