Fancy something different for the new year? Then the LPO's New Year's FILM Gala is just the thing for you. Listen to a mixture of international blockbusters, melodies from the UFA city of Babelsberg and national film productions from the studios of UFA, DEFA and Bavaria.

Another highlight of the morning? The soloist of the LPO: PETER LEWYS PRESTON studied at the Bavarian Theater Academy in Munich and Shenandoah University in Virginia. He won the German National Singing Competition twice in a row, was awarded special prizes from the "Jugend kulturell" Foundation and the German Music Council, and was nominated for the German Musical Theater Award for Best Skin Actor. In the development of new plays, he breathed life into Frankenstein in FRANKENSTEIN and Wilhelm Grimm in JACOB & WILHELM, played Rachmaninoff in the German-language premiere of PRELUDES, Carl Bruner in GHOST - DAS MUSICAL, and played leading roles in CASANOVA, HAIRSPRAY, MY FAIR LADY, LIEDE MORD UND ADELSPFLICHTEN and many more. His films include ICH BIN! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER, TAUNUSKRIMI, LAIM, BLUTIGE ANFÄNGER, DIE BRÜDER GRIMM and the historical epic LOUIS VAN BEETHOVEN as Karl van Beethoven. In addition to his work as an actor, Peter is also a musician, composer and producer. In 2015, he released his debut album REACHING FOR HEAVEN. He was a guest at the LPO Brandenburg for the first time in 2024, and was so successful that he was immediately engaged for the New Year's Concert!
