Fall is mushroom season. But there is so much hope for new materials associated with these tasty "cell factories" that they are almost too good to eat. Animal-free leather, sustainable insulation for buildings and active ingredients for medicine are just a few examples. The unjustly neglected forest network has the potential to help save our future. What can these little wonders do?

Exhibition, keynote speeches and panel discussion with Dana Lafuente, mushroom expert at the Brandenburg Mushroom School, Bertram Schmidt, group leader for mycelial materials at the Institute of Biotechnology at TU Berlin and Hannes Hinneburg, Biofunctionalized Materials and (Glyco) Biotechnology, Fraunhofer IAP.
