Watercolor painting has a permanent place at the Kulturhaus Schwanen - a group of painters led by Winnende artist Angelika Behr has been meeting here regularly for over 15 years. With a changing line-up, but with constant enthusiasm, works are created at these meetings, which can now be seen again in an exhibition on the second floor of the building: "Die Samstagsmaler:innen: Watercolors".
The exhibition will open on Friday, November 14 at 7 pm with a public vernissage. In addition to Angelika Behr, works byRenate Weise, Ursula Wolke, Bärbel Rein and Peter Müller are also on display. They show very personal, stylistically diverse approaches to the medium of watercolor - sometimes delicate and atmospheric, sometimes colorful and rich in detail.
Their works range from atmospheric landscapes and floral studies to workshop scenes with a nostalgic flair and wintry forest pictures in which light and color meet in an impressive way.
The exhibition runs until December 17, 2025 and is accessible during the regular opening hours of the Kulturhaus as well as during evening events. Free admission
Interested in joining in?
The Samstagsmaler:innen not only live their passion, they are also open to the outside world: beginners are always welcome.
Anyone interested in getting to know the watercolor group can contact Angelika Behr directly (e-mail: a.m.behr@t-online.de). Brushes, paper and paints are provided.
What makes this group special is not only the craftsmanship, but also the intergenerational community. Some of the participants have been dedicating themselves to watercolor for over 35 years, while others have only recently joined the group. New perspectives meet many years of practice - a combination that is evident in the works on display.
