She was the queen of Italian poetry: Alda Merini (1931-2009) was promoted by Pier Paolo Pasolini and revered by the reading public. Until she was committed to a psychiatric institution and fell silent for two decades. Franziska Meier, professor of literature at the University of Göttingen, has written the afterword to the new edition of Alda Merini's poems ("Die schönsten Gedichte schreibt man auf Steine" // Dieterich'sche Verlagsbuchhandlung // Selected and translated by Christoph Ferber. With an afterword by Franziska Meier). Together with the actress Katharina Bach, she invites you on a lyrical search for clues.
