The latest Pisa shock is a clear indication that the education system is in a reform backlog. There will be a shortage of thousands of teachers in the foreseeable future, while educational inequality is growing. The climate, war, AI and anti-Semitism are also posing a massive challenge to education. To make a long story short: School is on fire.

Bob Blume is a teacher and educational influencer. In order to understand which fires need to be put out, he talks to experts once a week in the SWR podcast "Die Schule brennt". Together, they try to shed light on the education crisis from different perspectives and disciplines. Where is there an acute need for action? What obstacles are there? But also: what solutions? Bob Blume discusses topics with the experts such as teacher training and its further development, work at schools in crisis areas and digitalization in schools.
