Children's theater

A fairy tale based on Andrei Platonov presented by the Eckstein Puppet Theater.

A musician and a soldier become friends. They, like all the people, do not have it easy in life, because the always grumpy Tsarina rules tyrannically over her kingdom. One day, the tsarina is annoyed by the loud music and the soldier for not doing his duty, so she punishes them both with daily canings. The musician and the soldier make a pact: a cobbler's wife who looks just like the tsarina lives nearby. They decide to swap the two at night. The plan succeeds unnoticed and the next day the Tsarina wakes up in the cobbler's house, while the cobbler's wife finds herself in the Tsarina's bed. Now the fairy tale picks up speed, it becomes funny, cunning, with hearty humor and full of wonder.
