Die Sütterlinstunde – Hilfe bei der Transkription alter Dokumente

Fewer and fewer people can still read Sütterlin, the script that our grandparents and great-grandparents learned at school. However, many old family memories are written in this script and are now difficult for the untrained to decipher. This is where we want to start with our new series.

Twice a month, the history section of the Kulturhaus Walle invites you to an open Sütterlin lesson. Sabine Lenthe will help you transcribe your documents in old manuscripts. Short texts such as captions, postcards and documents written in Sütterlin or in German handwriting can also be translated on the spot during the Sütterlin hour.
