Die Verlierer @ Übel & Gefährlich

"Notausgang" by Die Verlierer offers a cutting musical flight forward. The Berlin band's second album, released on Mangel Records, proves to be the best gift of the year, despite the gloomy times. The five members have created a musical kaleidoscope that takes an introspective look in the mirror and an inventory of life in Berlin today in fourteen tracks.

The songs deal with personal themes such as powerlessness, searching, loneliness and excess, as well as gentrification and the creeping shift to the right in society. The title track "Notausgang" addresses the feeling of alienation in one's own country and the threat posed by the extreme right. Despite the serious topics, the band maintains their musical fidelity. They succeed in mixing post-punk and NDW, rawness and melody, timelessness and contemporary energy.

One of the band's strengths is the variety of voices, which gives each song a special nuance and allows new discoveries to be made with every listen. The album manages to transcend the emerging depression and take the listener with it. "Notausgang" is not just an observer of doom, but an emotional emergency exit that shakes the listener awake and carries them away.

SEXVERBOT is a Berlin punk band. Fast guitar, clear lyrics, unmistakable character. Whether capitalism fever dreams ("Ich bin verliebt"), social coldness and concrete tristesse ("Täglich grüßt die Monarchie"), self-destruction as the only way out ("Der Antagonist") or a middle finger to esoteric disciples ("Mystic Shit") - on "Sexverbot" short, concise, uncompromising songs are presented. Similar to the pioneers of past decades, the album reflects the lack of perspective and anger of a generation. The self-titled debut was produced by Lorenz Szukal (Die Verlierer) and will be released on Bretford records (LP/digital) and Mangel records (tape).
