Diplome der Kunst 2025 - Hellwach/wide awake

From Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle diploma exhibition entitled "Hellwach/wide awake - Diplome der Kunst 2025" will present the artistic positions of 42 graduates of the Department of Art in Volkspark Halle and the Art Foundation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. The ceremonial awarding of the Saalesparkasse Foundation Art Prize will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 6 p.m. in Volkspark Halle at the opening of the diploma exhibition. Being wide awake sometimes refers to the ability to absorb impulses, tendencies and vibrations, to question them critically and to translate them into new forms. Remaining wide awake can also mean not allowing oneself to be paralyzed by the constantly occurring crisis situations and upheavals and continuing to put out feelers. The exhibition presents current graduation works that deal intensively with personal, socio-political and art-related issues. This reveals a remarkable sensitivity and a critical view of our environment and current social discourses. The works of the prizewinners as well as other works by graduates of the Department of Art can be seen in Volkspark Halle and at the Art Foundation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt from February 6 to 23, 2025, from 2 pm to 7 pm.
