Dirty Talons / With Witch

In the organizer's words:

After releasing a collection of first EPs and singles in 2023, Dirty Talons went to the legendary Middle Farm Studio in South Devon, UK, to record their brilliant follow-up album "Deep Dive" directly to tape with producer Peter Miles (Architects, Crazy Arm, Petrol Girls and many more). The twelve songs on "Deep Dive" show the development of the band and their sound, both in terms of songwriting and musical ability. Describing the overall sound of Dirty Talons may be difficult, but the six-piece band thinks it's a very good problem to have, as "Deep Dive" is reminiscent of both old-school acts like Boston, Judas Priest or Pat Benatar, but also modern bands like Kvelertak, Sheer Mag or White Reaper.

From the first single "Buck-Passer" - a stomping, rocking anthem about people who never take responsibility for their actions - to catchy pop-rock bangers like "Can You Feel?", to more complex and very personal songs like "ACM", the album contains a broad spectrum of riff-bangers that Dirty Talons more than do justice to!

Lead singer Jess Howells on "Deep Dive": "Writing and recording this album has allowed me to process my emotions in a way that I'm not sure I would have had without this opportunity. Dirty Talons is my first musical project and this was the first cohesive project I've been involved in. The writing was just the lengthy process I needed to reflect and dive deep into my own mind, hence the name of the album."

Jess' vocal performance has audibly reached new heights as she has developed a new level of drive and confidence as well as a clearer understanding of hooks and melodies. You could say she's really found her voice on "Deep Dive" and the band's signature guitar trident, backed by a thumping bass and heavy drums, sounds more finely tuned and in sync than ever before. It comes into its own at the right moments, but also leaves enough room for additional instruments such as piano, organ, synthesizer and percussion to really shine through.

WITH WITCH from Mainz/Wiesbaden let it rip - with punk, power and ballads, lots of eyeliner and a wink. There are still loud, handmade songs with heart and soul and also a few selected covers. In German, in English, whether Shakespeare or Ducktales. Stories are told and concerts are rocked. Let the witches' dance begin!
