On Sunday, May 25 at 4 pm, the discussion "Transgender and Social Resonance" will take place in the Antoniensaal at Wolfsburg Castle as part of our current exhibition "Body Adventure". It is a cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Department of the City of Wolfsburg and part of the "Wolfsburg Weeks of Diversity and Tolerance".

A lecture by Robin K. Saalfeld, author of the book "Transgeschlechtlichkeit und Visualität" (Transgender and Visuality) is the starting point for a discussion about the different effects of images of trans people in the media. These representations not only depict, but also create ideas and emotions. The spectrum of their social resonance ranges from support for transition to right-wing extremist agitation. Recently in particular, trans people have become the target of right-wing violence.
