Walt Disney: "Fantasia" (USA, 1940/1999) | animated film
The Disney classic for the whole family, accompanied live by classical orchestral music by Peter I. Tchaikovsky, Paul Dukas, Ludwig van Beethoven, Edward Elgar, George Gershwin and others.
A milestone in film history returns - not to the cinema, but to the concert hall. Awarded two honorary Oscars in 1942, Walt Disney created a film composition in the truest sense of the word with "Fantasia", as thousands of running images were composed to well-known classics of music history - including the famous episode in which Mickey Mouse, as the sorcerer's apprentice, has to fight a horde of unruly brooms. Almost 60 years later, Roy E. Disney created the successful sequel to the work with "Fantasia 2000" - a rich treasure trove from which Disney has compiled a selection of the most beautiful scenes into a full-length concert program.
