In an exciting cooperation between the Grenzlandmuseum Eichsfeld, the IGS Bovenden and the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, a special exhibition has been created that deals with the topic of "Diversity today and then". At the opening, pupils from IGS Bovenden will present their artistic work as well as six information boards that shed light on historical and current perspectives on dealing with diversity. Thematically, the focus is on dealing with diversity in the Nazi era, in the old Federal Republic of Germany, in the GDR and after reunification up to the present day. In addition, video clips were produced together with the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, which also take a look at the topic of diversity and enrich the project in a multimedia way.
The exhibition "Diversity today and then" is not only an examination of historical and current perspectives on diversity, but also an important example of interdisciplinary cooperation between museum, school and media. The pupils were able to creatively express their impressions and experiences in the form of posters and video clips, with the support of experts from the Deutsches Theater Göttingen. Together, the works encourage discussion about the importance of diversity and tolerance in our society.
The exhibition was created in 2021/2022 as an outdoor exhibition at the IGS Bovenden as part of the "75 years of Lower Saxony-all clear!" funding program. It is now also possible to bring the poster exhibition to other educational institutions as a traveling exhibition.
